Message For those following my Bosch E46 Retrofit, i have made an attempt to document everything so that others will just be able to use the "search" and see all my threads. In this thread i wanted to address the highbeams. Since I am using the JDM headlights in Canada, the bulbs are different. Normally we use a standard 9005 bulb for the Highbeam, but the JDM headlight uses another bulb... exactly which one im not sure, there is a picture below. You also cannot take the reflector from your USD highlight assembly for the same reason why we are using the JDM headlights in the first place. The JDM highbeam reflector has its own seperate adjusting mechanism the USD one does not. And for what to keep the 9005 highbeam bulb?

You have two choices, you either cut the female end of the 9005 connector off your wiring harness and solder the new connector on or you can do what i did. Using flat pins, I crimped and soldered them onto the existing wires that were still part of the connector. This way you can just insert them into the 9005 Female connector and your done.

Personally i don't like to cut into the wiring harness, and should something ever happen, where i have to install a stock headlight down the road..(which will never happen) but the option is always there.
